Esotropia is a type of strabismus where one or both eyes turn inward toward the nose, instead of both eyes staying aligned and looking in the same direction.
Pseudo-strabismus is just an appearance caused by a wide nasal bridge or extra eyelid skin — the eye itself is healthy, and it tends to lessen as the child grows. True strabismus is an actual eye deviation, visible from every angle.
There's no real shrinking of the eye — any shape changes that occur are usually temporary and return to normal.
